Next week, students participating in the NYC Finance Experience Program will connect with an expansive network of HWS alums and parents in the heart New York City’s Financial District. The 23 students will tap into the significant professional experience of the network, while taking an inside look at the wide range of careers they can pursue within the industry.
Facilitated by the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education, the annual program is designed to accommodate visits with more than 80 alums and parents, friends of the Colleges and colleagues at: Amherst Pierpont Securities, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bloomberg, Chubb Insurance and AON Insurance, Citi Private Bank, Colliers International, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, IHS Markit, JP Morgan Chase, Key Bane Capital Markets, Morgan Stanley, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, PGIM, Standard & Poors.
“I think the NYC Finance Experience offers students the opportunity to become more informed about what careers interest them, what they might be good at and who to talk to when they begin to pursue those goals,” says Assistant Professor of Economics Joshua Greenstein, the faculty advisor for this year’s program.
Students will meet with both senior-level and entry-level professionals, offering students perspective on how to break into the industry and the functions of top industry leaders. In addition to Greenstein, the students will be accompanied by Associate Director of Career Services Erin Brockway, Senior Associate Director of Career Services Jackie Doyle P’14, P’19 and Research Administrator Courtney Oehl.
