Maya Weber ’20 has been to Bank of America headquarters in New York City twice — first as part of the NYC Finance Experience during her sophomore year, and then again this summer when she earned an internship as a summer analyst.
When she goes for a third time, she won’t be coming back. That’s because Weber, an economics major and member of the HWS sailing team, has accepted a position as a product analyst in the company’s Global Transaction Services (GTS) group. She’ll be moving to New York City to start the job after graduation in May.
Hosted by the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education, the four-day immersive NYC Finance Experience allowed Weber to learn about the culture of Bank of America and meet with alums who worked there.
During her summer internship, she connected with Julie Anne Baghajian ’15, Ryan Farrell ’15, D. Bennett Moore ’18 and Mary Kowalsky ’18. She also reconnected with HWS Trustee Aileen Diviney Gleason ’85, who serves as the managing director for Bank of America. Weber and Gleason had met twice before on campus.
“Connecting with alums during my summer internship helped me to better understand what GTS is and allowed me to further immerse myself in the Bank of America culture,” says Weber.
The product analyst position requires Weber to familiarize herself with Bank of America’s products and solutions and work with teams across the bank to provide long-term solutions that support client treasury needs.
“I’m very excited to be heading back to Bank of America after graduation and expanding on everything that I was able to learn this summer,” Weber says.
