Williams Club Membership Extends HWS Network

Hobart and William Smith have rejoined the more than century-old club, which offers a space and opportunities to engage personally and professionally with fellow members of the liberal arts community. As an affiliate institution, Hobart and William Smith enjoy access to the Williams Club facilities at the Princeton Club in Midtown Manhattan, and members of the Colleges’ community — including students, graduates, faculty, staff and family — are eligible to join as members.

“We are thrilled to create this resource for the HWS community,” says Director of Alumni and Alumnae Relations Chevanne J. DeVaney ’95, P’21, P’23. “Our relationship with the Williams Club, as well as with the esteemed group of member schools, offers the Colleges’ community a great opportunity to connect with peers from other institutions and expand their social and career networks. It’s particularly exciting for our current students and recent graduates.”

Founded by a group of Williams College alums in New York City in 1913, the club is a home away from home for graduates of Williams College and club members from affiliate institutions, including MIT, Wellesley College, the University of Chicago, and dozens of others. The club was established as a place for Williams graduates to convene, and today extends the same support and resources to a far-reaching community of like-minded institutions.

Membership comes with a broad range of privileges and benefits. The club itself offers a social setting to make new friends, celebrate with family, meet with clients or colleagues, and reconnect with classmates. Amenities include reasonably priced and renovated hotel rooms, full-service squash and fitness facilities, a business center, and casual and fine dining venues. The club hosts lively cultural, social, educational and networking events, and members enjoy discounts at retail clothing stores and city parking structures, as well as access to more than 200 reciprocal clubs around the world.

Discounted membership rates are available for faculty, staff, current students, recent graduates, and parents and families.
