I give each year to HWS because the Colleges gave so much to me. The interdisciplinary approach, as it was called, showed me how and why to look at issues from multiple viewpoints. This proved invaluable for my work as a journalist. I now look back on nearly two decades as a daily newspaper reporter (Gannett) and many years as a magazine writer to realize how HWS played an important role in making me a lifelong learner and teaching me how to tackle (almost) any topic.
