At Hobart and William Smith, mental health and wellness are at the heart of our community. We believe that for students to thrive, they must maintain a healthy lifestyle and routine that supports their academic, social and personal well-being. By taking a proactive, thoughtful approach, we provide students with the resources and support they need to navigate their classes, relationships and various responsibilities.

In 2023, HWS partnered with the Jed Foundation, a leader in supporting more than 400 campuses nationwide. This partnership brings evidence-based programs and systems to foster a culture of care, ensuring every student feels seen and supported. Our initiatives focus on mental health, substance misuse prevention and suicide prevention.
