Beginning in the fall of 2021, HWS will offer an Advanced Certificate in Management (CiM).
Continuing to build on the undergraduate liberal arts experience, Hobart and William Smith will now offer an Advanced Certificate in Management (CiM). The program is designed to help students develop skills, knowledge and insight in strategic management principles.
“Many students are eager to get their career started. And at the same time, they want to get a leg up on how to add value to their company or organization on day one. The Advanced Certificate in Management is a streamlined program that will really enhance students’ career entry opportunities,” says Director of the Management Program and Professor of Economics Thomas Drennen.
The program was approved by the New York State Office of Higher Education last week. HWS is now accepting applicants for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The CiM program can be completed in just one or two semesters. It is open to all students regardless of major.
Students must complete four courses, including at least three core classes and either an additional core or one elective. Coursework also includes an Excel foundations course, and a cornerstone of the CiM – the experiential field trip. With elective options that span data analytics and visualization, to nonprofit management, social innovation and business law, students can tailor their studies to a unique career goal.
CiM courses are offered in partnership with the Master of Science in Management program and taught by the Colleges’ expert faculty. The program is distinguished by a unique solutions-oriented approach.
Interested students should reach out to Professor Thomas Drennen (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss career objectives and how the CiM can help.
