In an effort to streamline communications and make career opportunities easier to find, the Career Services Office (CSO) has begun posting job and internship opportunities in one central location on their Web site. This move allows the office to better capture the array of openings offered to students, as well as to hone e-mail announcements so students receive only those in stated areas of interest. Students are encouraged to register their career preferences in eRecruiting so they can receive the selective e-mail announcements and personalized opportunities.
By logging on to http://hws.erecruiting.com, students can peruse a comprehensive list of current openings, as well as the application deadlines associated with each. Moreover, postings are archived and updated on a weekly basis, allowing students to be up-to-date on the latest opportunities as well as checking out listings they may have missed.
In the office, CSO staff continues to work with students on an individual basis to help meet their needs; if they aren’t finding opportunities based on their interests, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. It’s all the more reason for a student to come in and talk with a representative, says Brandi Ferrara, senior associate director of the, Salisbury Center for Career Services.
“Hobart and William Smith are very fortunate in that we staff members dedicated to developing opportunities for our students,” she says.
