HWS sailing wins Tom Noble Team Race

The 18th-ranked Hobart and William Smith Colleges sailing team won the Tom Noble Team Race at Washington (Md.) College over the weekend. In their second regatta of the spring, the sailors topped the field of eight for the victory, including top-ranked St. Mary’s, fourth-ranked Georgetown, and eighth-ranked Navy.

Representing HWS were skippers senior Austin Kana, senior Josh Parks, first-year Austen Anderson, and first-year Sam Blouin. They were joined by crew junior Meghan Jordan, sophomore Hannah Little, and senior Kaitlyn Van Nostrand. The group teamed up for a 13-1 record in the double round robin prelims, and went 3-0 in the finals against St. Mary’s, Georgetown, and Washington.

The sailing team will be back on the water March 7-8 when it travels to Washington, D.C., for the John Jackson/Graham Hall Team Race Regatta hosted by Georgetown.
