Associate Professor and Chair of Spanish and Hispanic Studies May Farnsworth has been elected to a five-year term on the Geneva City Schools Board of Education. She was sworn in on Friday, July 1, along with three other elected members.
As she told the Finger Lakes Times earlier this year, she intends “to support families and community members in their efforts to offer our youth an enriching learning environment, one that supports intellectual growth, scientific discovery, creativity, physical and emotional health, cultural awareness and civic engagement.”
Farnsworth joined the HWS faculty in 2007. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Spanish American Literature from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and her B.A. from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
