An essay by Michael Dobkowski, chair of the Religious Studies department, was printed in the Tuesday, June 26 issue of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
In it, he condemns the British University and College Union boycott of Israeli scholars, students and universities, announced May 30. The action, he explains, means that Israelis could not participate in scholarly exchanges with British colleagues, attend conferences in England or publish in British journals.
Dobkowski, a member of the faculty since 1976, holds his undergraduate and graduate degrees from New York University.
His academic research specializes in The Holocaust, the American Jewish Experience, Terrorism, Genocide, Jewish Thought, and Antisemitism. In 2006, he co-authored “Nuclear Weapons, Nuclear States & Terrorism.”
