On Thursday, April 16, President Joyce P. Jacobsen and other higher education leaders in New York will join “Connections” on NPR’s affiliate station WXXI to discuss how COVID-19 is impacting institutions, students, employees and education itself.
Jacobsen joins Sarah Mangelsdorf, the president of the University of Rochester, and Denise Battles, the president of SUNY Geneseo for the conversation.
Hosted by Evan Dawson, “Connections” airs weekdays from noon to 2 p.m. The segment featuring Jacobsen will begin at noon.

An expert on labor economics and the economics of gender, Jacobsen began serving as the 29th President of Hobart College and the 18th of William Smith College in July 2019. Jacobsen earned her Ph.D. from Stanford University and M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, and graduated from Harvard University, magna cum laude, with her A.B. in economics as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
