For the seventh year in a row, Brad Falchuk 93, L.H.D.14 has seen his television projects honored with Emmy nominations, with American Horror Story: Hotel and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story each recently garnering multiple primetime and creative nominations.
American Horror Story: Hotel has been nominated for eight Emmys (two primetime, six creative) and The People v. O.J. Simpson has been nominated for 13 Emmys (six primetime, seven creative). The 2016 Emmys will air on Sunday, Sept. 18.
Falchuk is perhaps best known as co-creator of the Emmy-winning shows Glee and American Horror Story, and most recently for the horror/comedy series Scream Queens. He is an executive producer of The People v. O.J. Simpson, which is the first season for the fictionalized true-crime anthology series, with each season conceived as a self-contained miniseries.
American Horror Story, which follows a similar format, has previously won 13 Emmy Awards. The shows first season was nominated for 17Emmy Awards, tied with AMCs Mad Men that year for the most nominations. In 2013, the second season of American Horror Story received 17 nominations, again more than any other show. The third season also garnered 17 nominations, while the fourth was nominated for 19.
Glee premiered in 2009 and Falchuk, Murphy and Brennan received two Writers Guild of America Award nominations for Best Comedy Series and Best New Series. After the shows early success, Falchuk signed a two-year deal with 20th Century Fox Television that involved further work on Glee as well as the development of other projects for the studio.
