19 February 2024 Ramsay '25 to Intern at Citi By Adam Alfar '26

Summer position to offer insight into global banking.

Building off interest from the NYC Finance Trek and two previous internships, Annabel Ramsay ’25 has accepted an internship with Citi as a Global Wealth intern.

In the position within the Private Bank at Citi, Ramsay will learn about the Global Wealth department and the services it provides.

“I am excited about working for Citi within its Global Wealth division due to the company's scale,” says Ramsay, an economics and Asian studies double major who held previous internships at RxSense and BCE Consulting. “Citi's scale and presence within the financial services industry directly translates to a multitude of unique and niche high net worth offerings.”

Ramsay first became interested in working with Citi during the NYC Finance Trek in 2023. When meeting with Margaret Bluhm Welles ’15 and Darius Brummel ’21, she appreciated the welcoming environment and became excited at the prospect of working there.

Later in 2023, she spoke with Matthew Brand '24, who interned with Citi during the summer of 2023, and Private Bank Analyst Gillian Parrett '23 on their experiences with Citi.

"Everyone has been super helpful," says Ramsay. "You can tell they really want other HWS students and alums to get involved with Citi. They also were willing to answer any questions I had about their time at HWS or working in the finance industry."

Held each January and coordinated by the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education, the three-day career trek gives students the opportunity to build connections with alumni and professionals working in finance and visit several of the industry’s global powerhouses.

Shortly after the trek, Ramsay applied to Citi’s Early ID program and got in contact with a mentor. The two had weekly meetings to discuss working at Citi and the best practices for interviews. Ramsay applied shortly afterward and was offered a position.

“There seems to be endless opportunities for learning, and that's the ultimate goal of my internship,” says Ramsay.

On campus, Ramsay is a member of the Finance Society,  Investment Club and the Public Leadership Education Network. She helps plan Day of Service and works as an O’Laughlin Ambassador in the Admissions Office. Ramsay is also an economics Teaching Fellow. In the spring of 2023, she was inducted into the William Smith Laurel Society for her academic excellence. She studied in Taiwan in the fall.
