17 April 2025 Lithuanian Folk Group “Suvartukas” to Perform at HWS

A folk dance group traveling the country bring their show to Geneva, N.Y. 

Hobart and William Smith will host a special performance by Suvartukas, a student folk group from Lithuania, on Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. in Albright Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

The name Suvartukas translates to “little whirlwind” or “little whirligig,” reflecting the group’s lively and energetic style. Their performance includes traditional Lithuanian music, song and dance, offering an educational and authentic look at the country’s rich cultural history.

The group is made up of students traveling across the United States on a tour sponsored by Rotary Clubs across America. Their stop at Hobart and William Smith Colleges is part of a series of performances throughout the country.

All ages are invited to attend the performance. Some parts of the show will even include audience participation.
