11 December 2025 Inside Wall Street: HWS Students Set for NYC Career Trek
Students to gain firsthand exposure to investment banking, asset management, analytics and more — all in two and a half days.
This January, Hobart and William Smith students will gain exclusive access to some of the most influential names in global finance. As part of the NYC Finance Career Trek, students will step inside the offices of BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Citigroup, Evercore, Bloomberg, HSBC, CHUBB, Rithm Capital and S&P Global — all within two and a half immersive days in New York City.
Designed primarily for sophomores, the Trek provides an insider’s look at the industry while strengthening the professional foundation students need to launch their careers. The experience is powered by the Melly Institute for Business, Innovation and Leadership, which expands hands-on learning and mentorship opportunities for HWS students pursuing business and finance careers.
Students participating in the Trek will:
- Explore major sectors of finance — including investment banking, wealth and asset management, global banking and financial services, financial analytics and ratings, and risk and insurance.
- Learn directly from HWS alumni and senior industry professionals, gaining insight into career journeys and advice for breaking into competitive roles.
- Build meaningful professional relationships that can lead to future internships and post-graduate opportunities.
“Giving students direct access to these firms and alumni is transformative,” says Director of Employer Development and Engagement Shayne Feinberg who will lead the program with Professor of Economics Feisal Khan. “Students leave the experience with clearer goals, new confidence and a deeper understanding of where they can see themselves in the financial world.”
The Trek also includes a networking reception at the historic New York Yacht Club, offering a formal opportunity to connect with alumni in the heart of Manhattan.
The NYC Finance Career Trek is one of many opportunities that reflect HWS’ national leadership in career development. HWS is ranked No.10 Best Career Services in the U.S., No.10 Best Alumni Network and No. 12 Best Internships by The Princeton Review.
