This Week in Photos: Thankful
- In this special edition of This Week in Photos, students share the things that make them thankful. Lalaine Vergara '21, who has been in Geneva, N.Y. since June to plan Orientation 2020, says she's grateful to be able to travel home to California for the holidays. And in the meantime, she and Marlendy Elysee '21 are thankful for the sunshine, and the opportunity to have lunch with a friend.
- I'm thankful I get to be here. It's an honor. There are lots of opportunities, and I love the people here, psychology major and Hobart Football player Lucas Amaral '23 says.
- Among the things Alex Kopcak '23, Bridget Van Brocklin '23, Erin Morrissey '23 and Hannah Phalen '23 are thankful for are: family, beautiful weather and supportive friendships.
- I'm thankful everyone I know is healthy. On a day like today, I'm happy to be a rower and to have Seneca Lake, says Moritz Marchart '22, an international student from Stuttgart, Germany.
- Eliyah Roberts '24 says, I'm thankful for my family, my health and a roof over my head. I'm thankful for just being in college! She performed in the fall production of The Vaudeville Variety Traveling Show.

- Katherine Vangaever '21 says, I'm thankful for my friends, family and all of the wonderful people here at HWS. She is the president of the student organization HWS DreamCatchers. The group is dedicated to fulfilling the final wishes of hospice patients.
- I'm thankful we're on campus and we're still going. I'm happy to be with my Hobart lacrosse teammates and that we're able to practice. -Souleymane Ballo '23
- Political science major Maya Striuli '22 says, I'm thankful for my mom and dad. She has held internships with Bremer Law Firm and Rural and Migrant Ministry.
- I'm thankful for family, friends and warm weather in November! - Steve Combs '21 is a double major in psychology and classics.
- I'm thankful my classes are being offered in person. I'm a hands on learner, Alex George '24 says. She is pursuing a career in clinical psychology. I'm thankful the faculty have been so accommodating to everyone's needs, Emily Rourke '24 says, a member of the William Smith Ice Hockey team.
- Politics enthusiast Jack Arenberg ’22 is grateful for the end of a rowdy election cycle and a “…restoration of normalcy,” the Hobart student government president says.
- I'm thankful I get to take classes in person. - Will Murray '24 is a member of the Hobart and William Smith Sailing team.
- I'm thankful that my family is healthy, Libby Maxwell '24 says. She is a member of the William Smith Field Hockey team.
- Biochemistry major Ferdy Simons-Barrientos '21 says, I'm thankful that I'm healthy and for the opportunity to come back to campus.
- I'm thankful for all the energy my friends give me, especially during the pandemic, says Jack Fell '21. I'm thankful for my friends, family and the planet, says Audrey Platt '21. Both students are political science majors.
