Geneva 2030
Geneva 2030 is a collective-impact organization working under the umbrella of Hobart and William Smith. Its aim is to improve the prospects for every Geneva child from cradle to career, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or economic status.
The initiative has built a network of more than 40 community organizations, along with the Geneva City School District, and town and city government. The network helps organize tutoring, summer outdoor education, college visits, a college and career center and other services.
Projects are based on meaningful data and strong connections. Geneva 2030 gathers and publishes data exploring the assets and unmet needs of students, families and service providers. At the same time, it forges relationships with Geneva's children, parents, teachers, school leaders, government officials and nonprofit leaders.
HWS has been committed to this work since the group's founding in 2011.
Geneva 2030's operations are based in the HWS Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning. Hobart and William Smith provides administrative support such as finance and human services, and many of the group's committees and action teams include HWS faculty and staff. Each year, Geneva 2030 arranges visits to the campus by the city school district’s second-, sixth- and ninth-grade classes.
