Reynolds (R-NY) who spoke on the topic "The Republican Congress: Issues and Agenda," was elected U.S. Representative in New York's 27th Congressional district on November 3, 1998. Reynolds serves on the House Rules Committee and as a Deputy Whip in House leadership. He previously served as a member of the New York State Assembly. First elected to the Assembly in 1988, he rose to the post of Assembly Republican Leader in 1995. While in the Assembly, Reynolds served as chairman of the Assembly Minority Affordable Housing Task Force, and was honored as Legislator of the Year by the American Legislative Exchange Council for his work championing affordable home ownership initiatives. Prior to his service in the State, he was a member of the Erie County Legislature from 1982 - 1988. He also served on the Concord Town Board from 1974-82. A licensed real estate and insurance broker, Reynolds was educated at Springville-Griffith Institute and Kent State University. Reynolds served as a sergeant in the New York Air National Guard from 1970 - 1976.
