    Amanda is Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ Title IX Coordinator. She began working at the Colleges in 2023 and is responsible for all Title IX Programming and Compliance. She provides support for students, faculty, and staff who have experienced prohibited conduct as identified in the Colleges’ Sexual Misconduct Policy. Amanda graduated magna cum laude from the Colleges’ in 2006 with a bachelor of arts in Political Science and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She holds a JD from Cornell Law School and a Masters in Education in Higher Education Administration from the University at Buffalo. She has worked in higher education for ten years after practicing corporate law at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London. She returned to HWS after serving as Director of Student Services and Advising for Cornell Law School. Amanda is excited to be back at the Colleges and supporting members of the community and connecting them with resources.

    Sean Cunningham was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Scheduling and Event Management in November 2021. He spent the previous three years as the Hobart lacrosse director of operations. In 2023, Cunningham took on additional responsibilities as a deputy Title IX coordinator for the Colleges. As an assistant athletic director, Cunningham coordinates intercollegiate competition schedules, facility scheduling and manages event management and has sport oversight responsibilities. Cunningham graduated in 2017 from Hobart with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He was a standout two-sport athlete for the Statesmen, playing defensive midfielder in lacrosse and wide receiver in football.

    Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., Renée moved to Geneva with her family to pursue her career in higher education. She joined HWS in April 2016 with a role in Residential Education. In 2019, she moved over to Intercultural Affairs to serve as the associate director. Renée wanted to pursue work that is more direct with students in marginalized groups, and to support the HEOP/AOP program. Therefore, her role in the IC was also split as an HEOP counselor. In December 2020, Renee was named the Director of Opportunity Programs. Renée truly has a passion for working with and mentoring college students and enjoys working in the higher education setting. She has worked professionally in higher education for over 10 years. Renée graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business and public policy from Ramapo College of New Jersey and has a master’s degree in higher education administration from Rowan University. Renée loves cooking, spending time with her friends and family, and binge watching her favorite shows.

    Mace joined the HWS community in 2022 as the Fisher Center Predoctoral Fellow in Gender and Justice. They now serve as the LGBTQ+ Resource Center Director. This dynamic role includes Safe Zone training, queer programming, community building, and supporting students. They are also a member of the Bias Incident Response team. Mace is currently a doctoral candidate at the University at Buffalo where they are finishing up a PhD in English with a focus in algorithm studies. They teach digital humanities classes informed by feminist and queer theory at HWS. They graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University with a Master’s in English. They also read tarot and have weekly “tea and tarot” events for HWS community members on Tuesdays.

    Laura is a SUNY Brockport graduate of 2019. She studied Public Health Education and is a member of the Eta Sigma Gamma National Health Education Honorary. Starting her professional career in HigherEd as an Admissions Counselor for the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse City Schools, Catskills/Hudson Valley and NYC area at a small private college. Taking up opportunities to advance, she became involved as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee member, Higher Education Opportunity Program Liaison and Title IX Investigator. Spring of 2021, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Student Life and lead News Student Orientation, Mentor Program, Student Senate, CAB and Clubs and Orgs. Continuing on the path of public health and leadership, she now oversees prevention education programming within Title IX with focus on wellness as a whole, sexual violence prevention, healthy relationship workshops, and event collaboration with campus partners. She serves as one of the Deputy Title IX Coordinators at HWS which allows her take disclosures and create safe space for the campus community, leading the Wellness Committee and serving as the One Club Advisor.
