Good morning,

Welcome to the second week of classes! Over the last two weeks, the Colleges conducted more than 1,900 tests and while we, like other institutions, experienced a few positive cases, our pre-arrival testing helped us identify positive individuals early so that they could isolate at home prior to coming to campus. Surveillance testing for students who are not fully vaccinated will begin after we finish all return-to-campus tests for our late arrivals.

More than 160 people registered for the Booster clinic held on-campus last week. Ontario County Public Health continues to host clinics around the area and boosters are also available locally at Walgreens and Rite Aid. Should you need transportation, Campus Safety can assist (315-781-3000). Additional booster clinics can be found here.

Currently, we have four students in isolation with only 20 total positives to date for the Spring semester. Our dashboard continues to be updated Monday through Friday. Our numbers are trending down, similar to the case count in the county. Mask wearing is helping to reduce transmission and as New York State has extended the Hero Act through February 15, we will continue to monitor the preventive measures in place on-campus.

In-person meetings and events may occur, but we encourage you to consider the size of the group and the space the event will take place in when planning.

The Hubbs Health Center remains available should students feel symptomatic (315-781-3600). This week, the COVID-19 Resource and Testing Center is open for asymptomatic students who were exposed or need testing Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Lastly, we are excited to welcome a large group of prospective students to campus this Friday for an admissions event. Please extend a welcome to visiting families.

Have a great week,

Sarah Kirk, Provost and Dean of Faculty
Becca B. Barile, Vice President for Campus Life and Dean of Students
