- The Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell statue at sunset. In 1849, Blackwell graduated from the medical school of Geneva College (Hobart’s precursor) as the first woman in the country to receive a medical degree. (Geneva College was renamed Hobart Free College in 1852 and Hobart College in 1860.)

The resulting data is then used by governmental and relief organizations.
