- In this special edition of TWIP, we celebrate the return to athletics. Here, the William Smith lacrosse team takes on Union in a Liberty League semifinal contest on Boswell Field at David J Urick Stadium. With their win, the Herons will take on Ithaca College in the title game on Saturday, May 1, at 1 p.m. in Ithaca.
- Kelsey Williams ’21 fires a shot past the Union goalie in the Herons’ 19-4 win over the Dutchwomen in a Liberty League semifinal on Wednesday. Williams had a game-high six points in the victory.
- Payton McMahon ’22 dodges around a Union defender on her way to goal. McMahon recorded a hat trick in William Smith’s 19-4 win over the Dutchwomen.
- Goalie Kevin Holtby ’23 stares down a shot from a Merrimack Warrior. Hobart’s backstop, who ranks among the best in the nation in both save percentage and saves per game, recorded 10 stops in the 14-10 victory.
- Adam Shea ’23 is one of the top faceoff specialists in the nation. He won 10-of-15 faceoffs in the win over Merrimack. The North Carolinian is second in the NEC and 13th in the country in faceoff percentage.
- William Smith eights pass under a railroad trestle on the way to Seneca Lake for practice. The Herons will seek their 10th Liberty League Championship May 1 in Saratoga Springs.

- Hobart’s varsity eight practices along the shore of Seneca Lake on Tuesday afternoon. The Statesmen are preparing to defend their Liberty League title on Saturday, May 1. Hobart has won 14 straight conference titles.
- Hobart’s varsity four practices on Seneca Lake ahead of the Liberty League championship on Saturday, May 1.
- Julia Keogh ’21 dribbles the ball downfield in William Smith’s game against Clarkson. Keogh had a hat trick in the Herons’ win over the Golden Knights.
- Sheilla McQuillen ’21 jumps around a defender during William Smith’s match against Clarkson last Friday. Seven Herons scored in the victory.
- Amad Miller ’23 dribbles the ball upfield in Hobart’s exhibition match against Rochester. It was the Statesmen’s second game this spring.
- Liam Dillon ’24 fires a shot just wide of the goal in Hobart’s game against Rochester. Dillon had a game-high five shots for the Statesmen.
- The Hobart and William Smith sailing team scrimmaged King’s Point in the Seneca Skirmish on Seneca Lake this past weekend. HWS finished 1-2 and had six boats place in the top 10.
- Wide receiver Shahkyle Matthews ’22 and fellow Statesmen scrimmage against Cortland on Boswell Field.
- Defensive back Cal Sullivan ’21 leaps in celebration with cornerback Jared Leake ’21 and linebacker Jack Daley ’23 looking on.
- Caitlin Chichora ’21 readies to hit a forehand in William Smith’s match against Ithaca on Sunday. The Herons defeated the Bombers 7-2 to earn their first win of the season.
- Katelyn Nguyen ’21 follows through on a shot in William Smith’s 7-2 win over Ithaca in Bristol Field House.
- Jett Wright ’23 hits a backhand shot down the line in Hobart’s match against Ithaca. Wright won 6-0, 6-1 in singles play as the Statesmen defeated Ithaca 7-2.
- Jeremy Atwater ’21 returns a serve during Hobart’s match against Ithaca at the HWS Tennis Center. Atwater is 4-2 in singles play this season.
- William Smith soccer takes on Clarkson on Cozzens Field.
- Sydney Foster ’24 tries to deflect a shot past the Ithaca goalie during a scrimmage on McCooey Field.
- Emma Lucas ’22 dribbles up field during a scrimmage against Ithaca on McCooey Field. It was the Herons’ second scrimmage of the spring.
