Jacobsen. The staff members were recognized for their service to HWS throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

- Orientation Coordinators Ethan Lewis ’23 and Litzy Bautista ’23 begin preparations to welcome the Classes of 2025 to campus.
- Associate Professor of Chemistry Justin Miller meets with Haley Sax ’23 and Max Horton ’23 to discuss their work with enhanced methods for synthesizing proteins.
- Utilizing UV light, Chase Bell ’22 investigates microplastics in the lab of Associate Professor of Geoscience David Kendrick.
- Associate Vice President and Director of International Student Enrollment and Success Marylyn Uhnak sits with summer interns Dima Piskun ’24, from the Ukraine, and Konoko Tsubakiyama ’23, from Japan. The students will assist with planning the international student orientation.
- Hobart’s varsity eight practices on Seneca Lake. The Statesmen’s top boat finished 21st in the nation at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship last weekend.
- Heather Kerns ’24 and F. Stephen Martocci ’24 slice through the water during an HWS sailing practice. The team will wrap up their schedule June 6-7 at the 2021 Gill College Sailing Coed Nationals.
- Associate Professor of Physics Leslie Hebb talks with Anupam Dhungana ’23 and Kate Crabtree ’22 who have begun conducting summer research in her lab.
- Seniors, who have been inducted into the French Honor Society or earned a Certificate of Excellence in French and Francophone Studies, gather for a photo with department faculty including Professor Catherine Gallouet and Associate Professors Kanate Dahouda and Court Wells.
- The William Scandling research vessel travels on the Cayuga Seneca Canal. The vessel is headed to Cleveland for a few weeks where it will be refurbished and then return later this summer.

- Admissions tour guides Shahkyle Mathhews '22 and Eric Strait '22 answer questions from prospective student Alexa Batinovich and her family, who are visiting from California.
- Under the direction of Professor of Geoscience Nan Crystal Arens, students begin their summer research aboard the William Scandling.
- Janne Knieke ’22 bikes across campus. She is on campus this summer to conduct geoscience research.
