CHARLOTTE LYSOHIR ’12 – A CAREER IN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Working at the intersection of education equity and economic mobility, Charlotte currently leads the global strategy for P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School), IBM’s marquee Corporate Social Responsibility program that aims to create an alternative pathway for young people in low-income communities to find meaningful employment in STEM careers. Last summer Charlotte designed and brought to market an online learning tool called Open P-TECH that is free for students and teachers to earn industry branded badges in emerging tech fields. Most recently Charlotte has taken on a new role as a manager, developing a process and framework for impact measurement and reporting across CSR initiatives. Before joining IBM, Charlotte held a number of roles, including Director of Business Development at Kinvolved, an education technology start-up. She began her career as a Teach For America Corps member based in Washington, D.C. Charlotte holds a B.A. in sociology and urban studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she was the recipient of the Leo Srole Urban Studies Prize, and an M.A. in education from George Mason University.
PARKE SCHWEITER ’19 – A CAREER IN MEDICAL SALES
Parke Schweiter ’19 is a Sales Representative for Stryker in New York City. Following graduating, Schweiter began working for Stryker as a Sales Associate and recently moved into his new promotion. He will be talking to students about the work he does in medical sales. While on campus, Schweiter was the captain of the Hobart Lacrosse team and majored in Biology. During his time as a student he interned with Finger Lakes Health and Premier Orthopedics.
PETER COLON ’01 – A CAREER IN ART
Peter Luke Colon ’01 is the associate director at DC Moore Gallery in New York City, representing nationally and internationally known contemporary artists, estates and foundations. He graduated with a dual Honors degree in studio art and Asian studies and later earned a license in project management from Boston University in 2003. After working in magazine publishing, Colon’s focus shifted to artists, institutions and collectors, working at prestigious galleries such as Fraenkel Gallery and Hackett-Freedman Gallery in San Francisco and Matthew Marks Gallery in New York City. A committee member for the Art Dealers Association of America Art Show, his interests include artist development, client relations, communications, education, management and working closely with private and public collections.
JANELLE WALKLEY ’10 – A CAREER IN CLINICAL RESEARCH
Janelle Walkley ’10 is the Multicenter Clinical Trials Program Manager at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a cancer treatment and research institution in New York City. In this role, Walkley works with Principal Investigators across all departments and therapeutic areas to activate and oversee their Investigator-Initiated Multicenter Clinical Trials at participating institutions throughout the U.S. and around the world. She is involved in all aspects of the clinical development pathway, from protocol development, budget and contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, to data analysis. She has 10 years of clinical research experience, and has worked on clinical trials in academia, pharma, cooperative group and NCI studies focused in oncology. She received a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from William Smith, minoring in pre-health and was a member of the William Smith Field Hockey team.

Dan M. De Nose ’10 will be leading a public speaking webinar Tuesday, 5/26 at 5:00pm EST. He is the founder of “Leaders of the 21st Century”, a global-aspiring nonprofit whose mission is to develop civic minded youth leaders in urban communities and prepare them for the world of work through leadership and professional development. Taking his own life experiences as lessons that empower him to help others, his motivating ideology is “You Are What You Think.” De Nose is a social entrepreneur whose mission is to motivate and inspire others through tailored motivational speaking presentations and positive messages through clothing.
BRAD FALCHUK ’93, LDH ’14
Award-winning writer, director and producer Brad Falchuk ’93, L.H.D. ’14 shares insights on careers in media and television, and discusses his personal journey from Upstate N.Y. to Los Angeles.
Falchuk is the co-creator of the groundbreaking dramas Pose and American Horror Story. His most recent projects include The Politician and 9-1-1. Falchuk is the co-creator of acclaimed television series including Glee, Scream Queens and American Crime Story. He is a two-time recipient of Golden Globe Awards, and has earned nine Emmy nominations, including his 2016 win for the first season of American Crime Story which follows the trial of OJ Simpson.
EMMA DOW ’15, COMMERCIAL ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, ACTIVECAMPAIGN
Emma Dow ’15 is a Commercial Account Executive at ActiveCampaign, a global software company headquartered in Chicago. She received her BA in Media and Society from William Smith in 2015. During her time at HWS, Dow was a member of the Varsity Rowing team and studied abroad in Rome, Italy through the Anthropology and Literature program. She moved to Chicago after graduation to work for The Bozzuto Group, and transitioned into the Software industry in 2016 to focus on helping businesses build strong customer experiences. When not working with prospective customers, and when socially permitted, Dow enjoys spending time with friends, exploring Chicago’s biking and running trails, and trying out new restaurants around the city.
SOPHIE HALTER ’16, FOUNDER OF SOPHIE HALTER CONSULTING LLC
An independent fundraising consultant based in New York City, Sophie’s expertise is nonprofit development, specifically fundraising (grant proposals, institutional donors, fundraising campaigns, galas, and corporate sponsorship). Sophie has worked with a number of notable New York City-based nonprofits, namely Children of Promise, NYC, The Doe Fund, Inc., the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., The Focus Forward Project, Inc., and Liberation Prison Yoga. To date, Sophie has raised over $2M in funding for NYC-based nonprofits, developed and streamlined fundraising strategies, and maintained relationships with dozens of renowned institutional donors. Sophie will be leading an hour long informational webinar for anyone interested in pursuing a career in fundraising. She will be going over the basics of grant writing to help students build a new career skill set.
TYLER TERENS ’16, TV BROADCASTER FOR CHICAGO FIRE FC MATCHES, WGN AND ESPN+
Tyler Terens ’16 is a television broadcaster and play-by-play announcer covering Chicago Fire Football Club matches on WGN and ESPN+. A sideline reporter for the 2019 United Soccer League Championship Final on ESPN2, he conducted a halftime interview with United States Men’s National Soccer Team legend Landon Donovan. A psychology major and member of the Hobart soccer team, Terens got his start in broadcasting on WHWS, where he hosted a sports talk show and called Herons soccer and basketball and Statesmen basketball and hockey games. He made his first national television appearance on ESPNU at 25.

Taran is a Senior Consultant within Deloitte’s Risk Intelligence/Business Continuity practice. He has end-to-end operational, finance, and analytics experience within the commercial insurance, banking, securities, technology and telecommunications industry. Taran has a consultative focus on risk/crisis assessment and mitigation, enterprise governance, advanced analytics, strategic planning and organizational design.
Taran has a BA from HWS, with degrees in Economics, Mathematics and Spanish.

Samantha Tripoli, WS ’11, Manager, Social Impact and Community Engagement for Zillow, the leading brand in real estate. In her role, she builds authentic relationships with leading nonprofit organizations and manages program and product development to ensure Zillow’s positive impact in community. Samantha’s career journey began as an AmeriCorps member at the YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish. After serving, Samantha joined GMMB to sharpen her communications acumen. Before landing at Zillow, she served as the Communications and Events Specialist with LifeWire, the leading domestic violence organization in Washington State. Samantha is a proud graduate of William Smith College where she studied Sociology, Women’s Studies and Public Policy, and performed with 3 Miles Lost.

MAXWELL MALBOUF ’14, FORENSIC INTERVIEWER AT UPMC CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL OF PITTSBURGH
The interviews he conducts, on behalf of law enforcement and investigative agencies, are used as evidence in a court of law, primarily for crimes against children. Malbouf graduated with a degree in sociology and earned a master’s in forensic psychology from George Washington University. He held an internship at the United States Naval Criminal Investigative Service at Quantico. At Hobart, he was president of the Hobartones acapella group, participated in theatre and studied abroad in Vietnam, where his work focused on social deviance and corruption.
