Student Information
At Hobart and William Smith, students conduct their own job search to identify opportunities that best fit their interests, skills, and class schedules. The Colleges offers a variety of employment options for students. Students may seek jobs both on and off campus, and will want to consider whether they want a job with a regular, steady schedule or only wish to work occasionally at special events such as athletic games. Some jobs may be more physical, such as certain Dining Services positions, while others may be more sedentary, such as an office clerical worker.
Students interested in working on or off campus should search the available job listings below. Submitted applications will be reviewed by the hiring department and they will contact students for interviews. Once selected for a position, the hiring department will submit the necessary paperwork to Human Resources. Human Resources will process the student hire and load it into the Payroll system at which time Human Resources will also send a notification to the student with instructions on how to submit their hours worked.
*IMPORTANT: If you have not received such a notification from Human Resources you should contact your supervisor immediately. You will not be able to report hours worked or receive a paycheck until you receive this notification!
