Campus LifeOrientation Team Recruitment
The Office of Campus Life is excited to build our Orientation Team to welcome the Class of 2029!
Applications will be available starting Monday, February 24
The Orientation Team will welcome and introduce all entering students and their families to Hobart and William Smith Colleges!
The O-Team works directly with Campus Life and campus collaborators to welcome new students and their families to the HWS community! New student orientation will take place from Wednesday, August 27 through Sunday, August 31. Following this in-person experience, O-Team members will facilitate new student outreach coordinated by Campus Life during the first 3 weeks of the semester. The O-Team will assist with providing on-going support, encouragement, and resources to new students. Some examples include sending emails and text messages, bringing new students to Involvement Expo, meeting for a meal on campus, attending a campus event together. This continued outreach helps to ensure a smooth transition to the academic year and campus life.

Social Media Engagement Specialist
Develop and execute an engaging and informative social media presence for new students and facilities using Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok. Position takes place June-August. 20 hours/week, hourly rate $15.50. Summer housing provided with free meals in dining hall.
Compensation: $4,000
Applications due: Friday, March 14. Interviews will take place the week of March 24.
ORIENTATION LEADERS
Are responsible for specific aspects of the program such as transfer students, event planning, spirit, orientation central, service, etc.
Compensation: $650
Applications due: Friday, March 28. Interviews will take place the week of March 31.
ORIENTATION MENTORS
Are trained to be facilitators who are responsible for a small group of new students or part of the campus relations team to execute the complexities of the weekend.
Compensation: $500
Applications due: Friday, April 11.
ORIENTATION DATES
OL Training: Wednesday, August 20 – Saturday, August 23
OM Training: Sunday, August 24 – Tuesday, August 26
Orientation: Wednesday, August 27 – Sunday, August 31
The O-Team experience will conclude on Monday, September 22
