Greek Recruitment
Recruitment Policies & Information
- You must be in good academic and social standing, as approved by Student Engagement.
- Students must complete 3.5 credits (second semester, first-year standing) before participating in recruitment.
- You must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA to join and live in one of the Greek houses. Second semester, first year students pursuing Greek recruitment, must have a 2.8 GPA.
- Greek dues and associating fees vary by organization and are collected by the organization directly.
- New member education or "pledging" typically lasts 6-8 weeks.
- Additional educational sessions will be required for those who accepted BIDS.
- Study hours are often required during the association period to ensure academic priorities are satisfied.
Recruitment Schedule – Spring 2025
- January 21, 12 – 1:30 p.m. in the Scandling lobby: Ask Greek Council Executive members about Greek Life on campus.
- January 22, 12 – 1:30 p.m. in the Scandling lobby: Ask Greek Council Executive members about Greek Life on campus.
- January 23, 12 – 1:30 p.m. in Saga – Meet representatives from each chapter.
- January 23, 7 p.m. in Sanford Room (Library) – Required Recruitment Meeting and Fraternity House Tour; Theta Phi Alpha house tour (all students interested in Recruitment must attend EITHER the 1/23 OR the 1/28 meeting).
- January 24, 6 - 8 p.m. Optional All Fraternity event in Bristol Fieldhouse; Theta Alpha Phi event at their house (756 S. Main St.)
- January 27, 7 p.m. in Sanford Room (Library) - Required Recruitment Meeting and Fraternity House Tour; Theta Phi Alpha house tour (all students interested in Recruitment must attend EITHER the 1/23 OR the 1/28 meeting).
