DECORDOVA, EMERSON AND CAIRD HALLS
DeCordova Hall
DeCordova Hall was opened for student residency on January 15, 2005. It opened alongside its sister building, Caird Hall. DeCordova Hall houses 88 residents and is highly sought-after due to each room’s separate temperature controls and central air conditioning system. There are hangout and study spaces located throughout the building. The ground floor is also home to the LGBTQ+ Resource Center.

Emerson Hall
Emerson Hall was built in 1969 and is home to upperclass students. Emerson Hall has Caird and DeCordova Halls on either side, forming a quad area. It houses 83 students and offers unique suite living. The suites are comprised of 2 double occupancy and 2 single occupancy bedrooms, along with a furnished common space and bathroom. The ground floor also has space for classes or meetings to occur.

Caird Hall
Caird Hall was opened for student residency on January 15, 2005. It opened alongside its sister building, DeCordova Hall. The ground floor is equipped with a pool table, gym equipment, and a full kitchen. There are also lounge and study spaces throughout the building for students to utilize.

WHAT’S IN A NAME?
- DeCordova Hall is named for Arthur deCordova for his outstanding services and financial support to the Colleges. DeCordova Hall was dedicated to Mr. DeCordova in 2006.
- Emerson Hall is named for Trustee William Emerson. Emerson Hall was originally built to house the overflow of William Smith students who needed housing. It is now home to both Hobart and William Smith students.
- Caird Hall is named for James F. and Synthia L. Caird for their generous commitment to the Colleges. Caird Hall was dedicated to Mr. and Mrs. Caird in 2007.
