C. Weston Lockry's life was guided by the ideal of community responsibility and service above self. For 30 years he distinguished himself as a volunteer leader for the American Lung Association and as a member of the Loyal Order of Masons. He was a former mayor of Manhattan Beach, California, former churchwarden and active Episcopal layman, and dedicated supporter of Hobart College alumni activities. He died in July, 1981, only months after the presentation of the Medal of Excellence.
